Prepaid

General

No, SIM cards registered with a foreign passport will automatically expire after 30 days. All services, including your mobile number, will end from the 31st day and cannot be extended or retained beyond this period.

You must update your registration document from your passport to a valid local identification document (see below).

Once the update is successful, you will be able to top-up as usual and continue to use the same mobile number.

Accepted Local Identification Documents for Update:

  • Work Permit Identification Card (issued from 3 May 1999)
  • S Pass
  • Employment Pass
  • EntrePass
  • Training Employment Pass
  • Personalized Employment Pass
  • Work Holiday Pass
  • Dependant's Pass
  • Long Term Pass
  • Student's Pass
  • Singapore Identity Card (NRIC)

The SIM card will be terminated on the 31st day.

No, your mobile number will be terminated and you won’t be able to get it back. To keep the same mobile number, please make sure to update your registration on time.

Yes, you can port your number to another telco while your SIM card is still active—within the first 30 days of activation.

Just make sure to complete the port-out process before your SIM is terminated on the 31st day. After termination, you won’t be able to port your number out.

Prepaid Self Registration Portal

You can access the portal here.

For the best experience, we recommend using a smartphone or desktop with a stable internet connection.

You must register your SIM card within a specified timeframe. If you miss the deadline, the SIM card will expire and you won't be able to activate and use it.

  • Physical Store Purchase: Register within 7 days from the date of purchase.
  • Online Purchase: Refer to Purchase Confirmation email for the specific expiry date.

Yes, the card will be activated immediately upon successful self-registration.

Customers may register a maximum of 3 Prepaid or Tourist SIM cards that include calls and SMS, regardless of operator.

This limit does not apply to Tourist SIMs that only include data.

If you have reached the limit of 3 Prepaid or Tourist SIM cards with calls and SMS, you will need to de-register one of them before registering a new Prepaid SIM.

For M1 Prepaid SIM cards:

Visit any M1 Shop for de-registration, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), from 11am to 5pm.

For Prepaid SIM cards from other operators:

Please contact the respective operator for information on their de-registration process.

The port-in process usually takes up to 3 working days.

You’ll receive two SMS notifications:

  • The first will confirm if your port-in request is approved or rejected.
  • If approved, you’ll get a second SMS once your number has been successfully ported over.

If you're experiencing issues with the self-registration portal, please proceed to M1 Shop Bugis between 11am to 8pm (dedicated hours for M1 Prepaid customers) for manual registration.

You will need to complete the registration manually.

Please visit us at M1 Shop Bugis between 11am to 8pm (dedicated hours for M1 Prepaid customers) for manual registration.

Prepaid 5G Data Packs

To use 5G service, you’ll need:

  1. A 5G-compatible device
  2. An M1 Prepaid 5G SIM card
  3. 5G mode turned on in your device settings

Once you have these, simply purchase any Prepaid 5G Data Pack. Your 5G service will be activated automatically, and you can start enjoying faster speeds right away.

Yes, you can buy a new Data Pack before your current pack expires. Any unused data that hasn’t expired will be carried over to your new pack.

Note:

All carried-over data will be valid for up to 30 days from your new purchase.

Some Prepaid Data Packs, such as Tourist SIMs or selected top-ups, include roaming data for certain countries—like Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. To confirm if your pack includes roaming data, just check your Data Pack details in the M1 Prepaid app.

If your pack doesn’t include roaming data, you can:

  1. Buy a Prepaid Roaming Pack using the M1 Prepaid App.
  2. Use pay-per-use roaming, which will be charged from your main balance at the prevailing rate for the destination country.

Before you travel, make sure data roaming is switched on in both your device settings and in the M1 Prepaid App.

If you use up all your bundled data, here’s what happens:

Local usage (Singapore)

You’ll be charged $0.07 for every 10KB you use, deducted from your available balance.

For the best value, we recommend purchasing a new Data Pack as soon as possible.

Roaming (overseas)

Charges vary depending on the country you’re visiting and whether you have a roaming pack. If you run out of data or travel to a country not covered by your roaming pack, pay-per-use roaming rates apply—usually $0.03 per KB or the country’s prevailing rate.

To avoid unexpected data charges, buy a Roaming Pack for your destination, or make sure you have enough bundled data before you travel.

Yes. These updates will use data from your Prepaid 5G Data Pack. To avoid charges, turn off automatic app/software updates in your phone settings.

Your Super$28 top-up is valid for 50 days from the date of top-up or activation. Your Prepaid SIM card validity will also be extended by 180 days from the top-up date.

Once your Super$28 top-up expires, simply top up with a standard denomination (e.g., $18 or other available amounts) to add value to your Main Balance and continue using your Prepaid SIM.

To protect your interests, the maximum balance allowed in your Prepaid SIM account is $999. If your Main Balance reaches this limit, you will not be able to proceed with any further top-ups.
