Carbon Emissions

*Following the GHG Protocol’s market-based approach, RECs are accounted for in the reporting of Scope 2 emissions. In 2024, M1 purchased RECs representing 4,506 t-CO2e of renewable electricity. 


 

Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

M1 is committed to the ICT sector 1.5⁰C pathway of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*. 


 

Our Scope 1, 2 and 3 targets were validated in June 2022. To account for the significant changes to M1's structure and activities with the divestment of our mobile network assets, we restructured our GHG inventories and re-calculated our science-based targets which were approved in May 2025. 


 

Our Commitment by 2030 (from a 2020 base year)


 

Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 46.7%

Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities by 42%
