M1 launches MMS service on M Card to cater to young customers
SINGAPORE, 5 June 2003 - The prepaid card from M1 that gives control back to the customer now gives him the freedom to MMS his friends as well. The M Card is the first prepaid card in Singapore to allow customers to send and receive MMS.
With the person to person MMS service now available on the M Card, M1's prepaid customers can enjoy the full benefits of multimedia messaging, complete with picture and text.
Calling this MMS service an innovative value-add to the M Card, M1's Chief Executive Officer, Neil Montefiore, said: "We know that many of our young customers enjoy the novelty of snapping a picture with their MMS phones and sending it as a MMS to their friends. With this new service, our customers on prepaid, especially the young, will not miss out on all the fun!"
M Card customers can send and share MMS via a MMS-enabled phone in various ways, such as sending and receiving MMS from all M1 customers. At the same time, they can also send and receive MMS from SingTel and StarHub postpaid customers.
Other than sending multimedia messages to MMS-enabled phones; M Card customers can also send MMS to their friends' e-mail addresses and receive MMS when they're roaming in more than 30 countries.
The cost of sending a MMS on the M Card is 31.2 cents (up to 30kbs) and $1.25 (above 30kbs). More details on the MMS service for the M Card and activation procedures can be found at M1's website www.m1.com.sg
