Selected iOS devices feature Dual SIM capability with a nano-SIM and an eSIM. An eSIM^ is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a mobile plan from M1 without having to use a physical nano-SIM.

    Here are some advantages of an eSIM:
  • Hold separate voice / data plans on a single device and switch whenever you want to
  • Assign and use one number for work and another for personal use

Your device can use one number at any one time.

    Supported iOS Devices:
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR

    Compatible iOS:

  • iOS 12.1.1 or later


^The eSIM technology also works with iPad Pro (11-inch) and iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (3rd generation).

You may sign up for eSIM at the following channels:

If you wish to change your existing physical SIM to an eSIM, you may do so at any M1 Shops, Customer Service Centres or call in to 1627 for assistance.

Before setting up, please ensure that you have data connectivity (e.g. Wi-Fi) and that your device is on iOS 12.1.1 or later.

To activate your mobile plan, scan the QR code provided. If you need to retrieve your QR code, log in to My M1 App.

Via QR code provided

1: Go to Settings > Mobile Data

2: Select Add Data Plan

3: Scan the QR code provided to you when prompted (QR code is on the last page of your application document sent via email.)

4: Press Add Data Plan button to confirm

5: Select a label for your data plan, or type a custom label. Then, click Done

6: Your mobile line is now activated on your eSIM

 

Via My M1 App

1: Go to More > eSIM Profile under Settings

2: Your QR code will be displayed as shown below

3: Scan the QR code displayed with your intended device

4: Press Add Data Plan button to confirm

5: Select a label for your data plan, or type a custom label. Then, click Done

6: Your mobile line is now activated on your eSIM

 

How to Use Dual SIM with an eSIM

  1. What is Dual SIM?
    Dual SIM gives you the convenience of having two phone numbers on a single device. You can have separate personal and business numbers or purchase separate data plans.

  2. What are the devices that currently support eSIM?
    At present, M1 supports eSIM on iPhone XR, XS and XS Max, 11-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd gen.) with iOS release 12.1.1 onwards. As the adoption of eSIM grows and more phone manufacturers start offering eSIM, M1 would be able to support many more eSIM-enabled mobile devices in the future.

  3. Are prepaid lines supported for eSIM?
    No. At present, only postpaid lines are supported.

  4. Can customers subscribe to multiple lines with M1 with eSIM?
    Yes, and the customer can choose to install all the eSIM profiles on the same mobile device.

  5. How can I apply eSIM?
    You may sign up for eSIM at the following channels:

    New Line Sign-ups: M1 Shops, Exclusive Distributors and m1.com.sg

  6. What are the charges for eSIM?

  8. What happens if I accidentally delete my eSIM profile on my device?
    You may access My M1 App on another device and retrieve the QR code via the App Settings and re-scan the QR code using your intended device. Please note that an eSIM re-activation fee of $5 will apply.

  9. What should I do if I scanned the QR code on the wrong device?
    Check your eSIM status via App Settings on My M1 App. If you are presented with the QR code, the eSIM profile has not been installed yet. You may proceed to scan using the QR code using your intended device. If you see “eSIM Profile is currently in use”, the eSIM profile is currently installed on the wrong device. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Delete the profile on the wrong device:
      • Go to Settings > Mobile Data.

      • Tap the plan you want to erase.

      • Tap Remove Cellular Plan.

    2. Go to My M1 App to retrieve the QR code via App Settings. Re-scan the QR code using your intended device. Please note that an eSIM re-activation fee of $5 will apply.
