M1 raises S$500,000 at its annual Charity Golf tournament to support children and youth charities

SINGAPORE, 30 August 2019
– M1 Limited (M1) hosted its 16th annual Charity Golf tournament today, raising S$500,000 to support its adopted charities, backed by the continual support of its business partners.

Funds raised at the event will go to M1’s adopted children and youth charities, including Beyond Social Services, the Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association (CARE) and the M1 Students Support Fund, which provides supplementary support to school-going children from low income families.

Teeing off at the Sentosa Golf Club, the event was well attended by business partners and staff, who came together to support M1’s long-standing commitment to give back to the community.

“At M1, we recognise that the long-term success of our business is closely knitted with the wellbeing of the communities that we operate in. M1 Charity Golf, which is now in its 16th year, reinforces our efforts to make a difference to our community. We deeply appreciate the generous support our business partners have extended to our beneficiaries, helping the children and youth to achieve their full potential and lead meaningful lives,” said Mr Ivan Lim, Director of Corporate Communications, M1.

“ ‘It takes a modern village to raise a child born into disadvantage’ - It truly requires far deeper skills, professional competence, resources and community support to help the vulnerable youth and children of today. M1’s unwavering support and generosity over the years have empowered CARE Singapore to continue to deliver heavily subsidised and much-needed services. Thank you M1, for believing in and helping our children succeed,” said Dr John Tan, Executive Director, CARE Singapore.
