1. What is MMS?

    Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) allows you to share pictures, animations, music and text as a multimedia message with family and friends.

  2. Who can use MMS?

    MMS is available to M1 Postpaid and M Card customers with MMS-enabled phones.

  3. What benefits do I get by sending MMS instead of SMS?

    You can combine pictures, sound and text in the message you send. For example, you can send a picture of a birthday cake, and attach a birthday song with a personalised text message.

  4. How do I send MMS?

    Simply select the option to compose a multimedia message from your phone. Attach a picture, animation or music with your message and send.

Charges

  1. How much is it to send an SMS?
    Local SMS

    Local SMS is deductible from the free SMS/MMS bundle included in your mobile plan. SMS is charged at 5.35 cents each after the free bundle is fully consumed.

    Global SMS

    Each global SMS sent by M1 customer locally (from Singapore) to an overseas network operator customer is charged at 15 cents.

    The monthly free bundled SMS is not applicable for Global SMS. M1 ensures the delivery of your Global SMS sent but does not guarantee the recipient receiving it.

  2. How much is it to send an MMS?
    Local MMS

    Local MMS is deductible from the free SMS/MMS bundle included in your mobile plan. You will incur the following local MMS charges after the free bundle is fully consumed:
    32.1 cents per MMS (0-30kb)
    85.6 cents per MMS (>30kb)

    Global MMS

    Per Global MMS sent by M1 customer locally (from Singapore) to an overseas network operator customer:
    30 cents per MMS (0-30kb)
    80 cents per MMS (>30kb)

    The monthly free bundled MMS is not applicable for Global MMS. M1 ensures the delivery of your Global MMS sent but does not guarantee the recipient receiving it.

  3. Will I incur any GPRS charges by sending MMS?

    No. There are no GPRS charges for sending and receiving MMS.

  4. Will I be charged if I use MMS while roaming?

    Yes. You may also incur foreign operators' MMS/GPRS data charges.

  5. Will I be charged if I:
    A. reply to my friend who sent me an MMS?
    B. send text messages using MMS?

    If you reply or send text messages via MMS, you will be charged MMS rates accordingly.

  6. Will I be charged for viewing my MMS at the MMS Retrieval Centre?

    No, you will not be charged. Viewing is free.

Inter-Operator MMS

  1. Can I send/receive MMS to/from SingTel and StarHub customers?

    Yes. You can send/receive MMS to/from SingTel/StarHub customers.

  2. How do I send a Global MMS?

    Key in '+', 'country code' and 'recipient's mobile number'.
    For example, to send an MMS to a friend in Hong Kong, key in +852 XXXX XXXX.
    Note: If you key in without the '+' sign, your Global MMS will not be sent successfully.

  3. Can I (from Singapore) send/receive MMS to/from SingTel/StarHub customers who are roaming?

    Yes. SingTel/StarHub customers can send/receive MMS to/from you if they are roaming in countries with GPRS roaming coverage.

  4. Can M1 customers send/receive MMS to/from SingTel/StarHub customers when both parties are roaming?

    Yes. Both parties must be in countries with GPRS roaming coverage.

  5. How do I retrieve MMS from SingTel/StarHub customers if I'm holding a non-MMS phone?

    You will receive an SMS notification to inform you to retrieve your MMS by logging on to our MMS Retrieval Centre. Click here to go to MMS Retrieval Centre.

  6. How does a SingTel/StarHub customer with a non-MMS phone retrieve MMS sent from an M1 customer?

    The SingTel/StarHub customer will receive an SMS notification to inform him to retrieve the MMS through the respective operator's MMS Retrieval Centre.

Service Access

  1. What do I need to access MMS?

    You will need an MMS-enabled phone.

  2. What if I have de-activated my local data service? Can I still use MMS?

    No, MMS is not available with the de-activation of local data service.

  3. Do I need to subscribe to a special plan to enjoy MMS?

    No, MMS is offered as a value-added service on your existing mobile plan. There is no registration or monthly subscription charges.

  4. How do I terminate MMS service?

    There is no need to terminate the MMS service. You will not be charged if you do not use the service.

  5. What software do I require to view MMS sent to my e-mail address?

    You do not need any software to view your MMS. The audio, image and text, will be displayed as different attachments.
