    No, 4G data usage is charged the same as 3G data usage. The data bundle of your smartphone plan / data VAS is applicable for both 4G and 3G data usage.

  5. Do I have to change my SIM card to enjoy 4G service?

    For 3G SIM card users, you will not be required to change your SIM card to enjoy 4G service. Customers using 3G normal SIM cards may need to change to a 3G microSIM if your 4G smartphone is only microSIM compatible. SIM card charges will apply.

    If you are using a 2G SIM card, you will need to change to 3G SIM card or 3G microSIM if your 4G smartphone is only microSIM compatible.

  6. How will I know that I am connected to 4G network on my mobile phone?

    The 4G signal will be indicated on your 4G smartphone signal bar.

  7. I have subscribed to M1’s 4G service. Why is it that my voice calls are made on 3G instead of 4G?

    The 4G network is only a mobile data network. Voice calls are supported on 3G network. Therefore, during voice calls, only 3G/2G signal will be reflected. After the call is over, your 4G smartphone will re-connect to the 4G network.

  8. Why can’t my 4G smartphone / 4G USB stick from overseas work on M1’s 4G network?

    Different operators around the world employ different 4G technology. Your 4G smartphone / 4G dongle may have been configured to run only on a country-specific 4G network. This is probably the reason why it is not compatible with M1’s 4G network.

  9. Can I enjoy 4G speeds on my 4G smartphone when I roam overseas?

    Customers on M1’s 4G network will be able to enjoy 4G roaming services on specific networks in Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Look for more information here.
